How does fexofenadine work?
When your body is exposed to pollen, there is a chance that it will result in allergic symptoms, known as hay fever. When this happens, the cells in the inner lining of your nose release a chemical called histamine, which in turn leads to inflammation and symptoms of hay fever such as sneezing, itching and a runny nose.
Fexofenadine is a non-drowsy anti-histamine and works by preventing the release of the chemical that causes symptoms of hay fever. Fexofenadine hydrochloride is an anti-histamine medicine for the relief of hay fever symptoms: blocked, itchy and runny nose, sneezing and watery eyes.
