WORLD CUP TRAVEL HEALTH SERVICES

Healthy travel to watch the World Cup with practical pharmacy support.

Planning to travel to the football World Cup? Our pharmacy teams can help you prepare with travel health services across LOTHIAN, Fife, Glasgow AND TAYSIDE.

Travelling for the football World Cup can be exciting, but long-haul flights, packed stadiums, unfamiliar food, different climates, time zone changes and busy travel schedules can all affect your health.

Whether you are travelling to one match, following your team across several cities and countries, or adding extra time for a holiday, it is worth preparing before you go. Your local Dears Pharmacy team offers a focused range of travel health services to help you get ready for visiting the host countries: Mexico, Canada and the United States. From travel vaccinations and stomach upset treatment to jet lag, altitude sickness and common travel medicines, we can help you understand what may be suitable for your trip.

Our World Cup Travel Health Services bring together practical support under four key areas. Health essentials, Mexico match, long-haul and high-risk or extended travel.

You can book a World Cup Travel Health Consultation and we’ll guide you through which services you will need for your specific itinerary. During this appointment we’ll provide advice on all of the services listed below. A £15 deposit is needed when booking which will be deducted from the cost of any services, including vaccinations you may need afterwards. Any necessary service bookings will be made for you seperately which will be payable individually.

Alternatively, if you know what you need already, you can choose one service or combine several for a more complete travel health plan. Book each service you need online, and our pharmacy team will guide you through the rest.

Our World Cup Travel Health Essentials include services such as Hepatitis A, Typhoid, MMR, Covid, Flu, Tetanus, Diphtheria and Polio vaccination services.

These services can help you prepare for international travel, busy airports, crowded stadiums and time spent in different cities.

Higher-risk or Extended Travel

Some travellers may need additional protection or advice. This may include people travelling for longer periods, visiting rural areas, spending time outdoors, travelling onwards to other countries, or taking part in higher-risk activities.

Our Higher-risk or Extended Travel services include Hepatitis B Vaccination, Hepatitis A & B Combined Vaccination, Rabies Vaccination, Cholera Vaccination, Chikungunya Vaccination, Dengue Fever Vaccination and Yellow Fever Vaccination where appropriate.

Suitability depends on your destination, medical history, itinerary and individual risk. Our pharmacy team can help you understand which services may be relevant.

Travel health services for football fans heading abroad

Whether you are heading to one host city or following the tournament across several destinations, travel health planning can make your trip easier and safer.

A short appointment before you travel can help you check what you may need, avoid last-minute stress and make sure you are better prepared for common travel health problems.

WORLD CUP TRAVEL HEALTH TIPS

  • Plan early: Some vaccinations need to be given in advance of travel, and some may require more than one dose.
  • Think beyond the match: Your health needs may change if you are adding sightseeing, rural travel, onward travel or longer stays.
  • Prepare for common problems: Stomach upset, jet lag, migraine, reflux, hayfever, asthma symptoms and period timing can all affect your trip.
  • Check your routine vaccinations: Make sure important routine vaccinations are up to date before international travel.
  • Consider your full itinerary: A city-only football trip may need different support from a longer trip that includes remote areas, outdoor activities or onward travel.
